So I'll take the heat for admitting that I'm eating lunch at McDonald's today. Mea culpa.
I sit here, however, looking at the bag in which my daughter received her "happy meal." It has all kinds of facts and games about space. Hey, this is great, I thought, raising the awareness of kids about how cool space is.
Until I saw this nice factoid:
"You can jump six times higher in space!"
It is accompanied by an image of a young girl, arms and legs splayed as if she were in microgravity.
Oh, well. It is a fast food joint, after all.

Thanks for that :p

Oh and don't get me started on the physics teacher who totally screwed up explaining how the forces on things in orbit work by insisting there was a force in the direction of motion, and when I tried to explain there was only the inward force due to gravity only got it after a lengthy explanation and then said "but I'll keep teaching it my way because it's easier to understand like that". *blink*

they're wrong about space though. you can only jump 5 times higher. no more than that.
